Death of The App
In the past six months something I have noticed is the rise in talks for AGI, and Super Intelligence with the differences being one focused more on task, and the other outperforming humans completely. This leads me to believe there will be a reconstruction in the way we utilize technology to connect us, and bridge the gap between access, social, financial and other huge sectors which right now we rely on multiple sources to provide those services and assistance, but as we began to create an all encompassing agent, there will be no need for systems if one can handle everything. Thus leading to the death of the app.
According to Dictionary.com an app is a Digital Technology software application, often a small, specialized program for mobile devices to perform different tasks. And while it's hard to underline what the first app may have been (some attribute it to the snake game) the intent has seemed to be baked in the same. To solve problems, make people's lives easier, and provide options for commerce. We see this implemented overly well by a man named Steve Jobs who founded Apple. The concept of Apps were discreetly imperative to the design of the hardware, which led to the development of the app store where more than 500 apps were launched, and by launch weekend 100 million downloads had already occurred.
Interestingly enough though there were 100 million downloads it's never specified on how many downloads are represented across each app, and it makes us take into question the split between the market share of tools individuals download and rely on. According to Buildfire.Com The average person uses only 9 apps a day 30 apps a month meaning about 62% of the apps on an individuals device go un used, and the apps that have the most downloads in America are social apps such as Tik Tok, Facebook, Youtube which were pre installed prior to 2012.
Fast forward to about 2022 we have Open AI who created Chat GPT with the intent to answer questions, summarize text, translate languages, and automate tasks. So far the feedback for its capabilities has been beyond amazing with many lives being changed from what the technology can bring forth, and of course this is not the only technology of its kind. Co Pilot, Grok, and Perplixity are other examples of similar technology. The similarity in objectives for Apps and the creation of LLM’s which eventually have the goal of evolving into a Human Centered Super Artificial Intelligence lead me to believe that the way we cultivate our relationship with technology will be vastly different than before with a more personalized all encompassing approach. Instead of having multiple apps you can disconnect from and click into, there will be a centralized location for everything, and as we began diving into holographic technology, computer chips, and virtual reality we will begin to rely less on an app to navigate and interact, and more on a human centered artificial intelligence which can cater to our personal needs in a way that was not connected throughout many apps before for an individualized and mono experience.
So what does this mean for the startups, the people who are looking to create an app? Honestly I am not sure, but I think it is important to consider the capabilities of LLM’s that could be implemented easily into one of these systems, or how your system can support multiple tasks for lifestyle, not just one. This is so that the need for a user to go to another app does not exist, in my opinion making your app an agent is the pivot needed to survive in the evolving eye of AI.

This is also when the harassment from the corporation intensified into in-person gang stalking, coordinated intimidation attempts from the county government + corporation in liaison.
